SCENE 07INT. THE RULEBOOK — RANKING

Editorial & ranking policy

Ranking kaise hoti hai? Spoiler: paise se nahi.

How ranking works

Every published find receives a viral score (currently score version 1) computed from first-party, deduplicated signals over rolling 7-day windows:

  • Qualified view growth (25%) — week-over-week change in real page views.
  • Saves & shares per view (25%) — how often people who see it keep it.
  • Outbound clicks & booking interest (20%).
  • Recent community engagement (15%).
  • Freshness (15%) — recency of publication, with a 14-day half-life.

Finds with fewer than 30 qualified views in two weeks are not badged at all — they appear as New Finds or Editorial Picks instead. Badge thresholds: Emerging (25+), Rising (45+), Breakout (70+). Weights are versioned; when we change them, historical snapshots retain the version they were computed with.

Integrity rules

  • Events are deduplicated per visitor per day; repeated self-interaction doesn't stack.
  • Paid impressions are recorded separately and never count as organic engagement.
  • Suspicious traffic patterns are excluded from scoring.
  • We do not display third-party social metrics we cannot verify.

Editorial curation

Editorial collections are chosen by humans for quality and originality. Businesses cannot pay for inclusion in editorial collections. Ratings shown with a “source-reported” note come from the original merchant or platform and are not independently verified by us.
